In the spirit of our philosophy to teach people and communities in order to be independent and in order to achieve sustainable results of our aid in new project, we focused on maintaining and improving work habits of refugees in three camps in Thessaloniki in which we operate. We have established a tailor’s workshops, where refugees learn to sew and knit. They spend time of waiting on the asylum process, which in Greece is still very sluggish, in this way. They gain a feeling of usefulness due to making clothes, which they need. Thanks to the support of ADRA Denmark we bought sewing machines and means for sewing and knitting. We coordinate activities, teaching sewing and knitting is led by refugees who previously worked as tailors.
